We are finally here. IEM Katowice 2019 is about to start and we cannot be more excited. We will be presenting you with what we think are the best CSGO betting tips for this tournament.

Astralis vs compLexity

For our first IEM Katowice 2019 The New Legends Stage, we found a big miss-match between Astralis and compLexity, so make sure you read our in-depth analysis of these two teams.

Form

These two teams are in a very different form. Let’s start with Astralis. Danes have 4 victories in their last 5 bouts. However, they lost their last game against Liquid in the iBUYPOWER Masters IV grand finals. On the other hand, they have beaten teams like Natus Vincere, Cloud9, compLexity, and Ghost gaming.

On the other hand, compLexity is in a terrible form. They were only able to win one match in their last bouts. What makes it even worse is that they managed to beat Win Scrims Not Matches on a decider map. Furthermore, they lost to some lower ranked teams such as Swole Patrol and Luminosity. Lastly, they were dominated by both FaZe and BIG.

Map Pool

What makes this match-up so easy for Astralis is map pool for both of these teams. You all know that Astralis does not play Cache, and that was their permaban throughout the entire 2018. As for 2019, this did not change and Astralis is yet again banning Cache. On the other hand, compLexity does not play Nuke, and this is going to be their first ban.

On to the good maps for these two teams. To be honest, Astralis does not have a bad map. They are comfortable on all maps, except Cache and Train. Furthermore, Astralis’ Inferno, Mirage, Dust 2 and Nuke have been on point.

compLexity struggles on a lot of maps lately, and they can not find that one map where they will feel comfortable on. However, they have been solid on Mirage, and if they are able to force this map in map veto, they would probably have a chance, a very slim chance. Rest of the maps in compLexity’s map are simply not good enough once compared to Astralis map pool.

Head-To-Head

These two teams faced off against each other on two different maps. Both of these maps were as easy as they get for Astralis. Their first bout took place on Inferno, where compLexity was only able to win 4 rounds.

Furthermore, these two teams met on iBUYPOWER Master IV, where compLexity got stomped once again. This time around, they opted in for Dust 2. CompLexity was left with only 3 rounds to their name, as they were simply outplayed in every single aspect of the game.

Summary

You can probably see where I am going with this one. Everyone is probably placing compLexity as their 0-3 pick in IEM Katowice 2019 Pick’Em Challenge. Ever since this North American organization decided to get rid of their star players, things did not look good for the team.

On the other hand, Astralis is definitely coming to IEM Katowice 2019 with an extra motive. They do not like losing tournaments, and their defeat against Liquid on iBUYPOWER Masters IV will probably propel them to a dominant victory here.

Math is really simple in this matchup. Astralis has better individuals. All of their players have been placed in the top 20 CSGO players for 2018, and that says a lot. They arguably have the best and most consistent AWPer on the entire CS:GO scene. Astralis also have a couple of brutal riflers and there is no way compLexity can match them in any way, at least when it comes to individual skill.

To conclude, Astralis is on a level above compLexity. Danes have been terrorizing everyone, and the same thing will happen to compLexity in this match. Map pool is favoring Astralis on every single map. Furthermore, since Astralis is not feeling comfortable on Cache and Train, they can just ban it, since this is a best-of-1 match. Danes are definitely better in every single aspect of CSGO, and I expect a similar score as in their last two meetings.
