Firstly they suffered a heavy defeat to Astralis. To be honest, no one was expecting compLexity to do anything in this match, hence why they only won 6 rounds.
compLexity’s poor run of luck continued as they were facing MIBR next. Just like in their match against Astralis, North American roster simply had nothing to offer in their match against Brazilians. They were able to get 9 rounds on the board and that was it.
After going 0-2 in the Major, compLexity ruined everyone’s Pick’Ems. They were able to stun NRG in the elimination match. Even though compLexity won this simply because NRG was making some crazy mistakes. Alongside those mistakes, compLexity was not able to win any of two maps cleanly as we have seen two overtimes in this best-of-3 series. To be honest, these could have gone either way, but compLexity was a bit luckier.
Even though compLexity was able to win at least one best-of-3 series, they had no chance in the second elimination match against FaZe. compLexity won the first map, and that is basically everything this CSGO roster did in this series. They were eliminated with ease.
Their last game took place in the event they are participating at the moment. Even though compLexity lost the first map, they came back and proved that they wanted this victory more than eUnited. They were able to turn things around and come one step closer to that ECS Season 7 Finals ticket.
- NRG
Just like compLexity, NRG was able to win 3 out of their last 5 bouts. However, the level of competition these two teams played against cannot be matched, as compLexity definitely played against stronger teams.
In the last 5 matches, NRG won against TyLoo in the IEM Katowice 2019 Main Qualifier, which took place over a month ago.
After qualifying, NRG was edged out on Nuke in their opener against NiP. Even though NRG was pulling off a solid comeback, a couple of individual mistakes cost them a win in this one. After losing in such a fashion, morale was definitely on the rock bottom.
Their second against AVANGAR was the exact same. They had an awful start and they were starting to get momentum towards the final stage of the match. Once again they fell short as they were unable to create a full comeback.
Their last match on IEM Katowice 2019 saw them play against compLexity. We already talked about this match, so we will just repeat the basics. NRG totally lost this match because of the mistakes they made. As simple as that.
After their early exit from the Major, NRG was looking to raise from the ashes. They dominated Spacestation over the course of two maps, leaving them with only 9 rounds to their name in the entire series.

These two teams have very similar map pools, so I think predicting a correct map veto should not be a problem.
Let’s start with something we already know. Last time these two teams played against each other, NRG removed Dust 2, and this is probably what they will permaban. On the other hand, compLexity is awful on Train, and they will definitely permaban it.
When it comes to good maps for these two teams, they are both comfortable on Inferno, Overpass, and Nuke. However, compLexity is doing their best work on Cache, and they will definitely want to get this map in the pool. On the other hand, NRG has been stellar on both Inferno and Mirage, so compLexity can choose its poison.

compLexity vs NRG Summary
Given the fact that NRG will definitely want to avenge their loss from the Major, I strongly believe they will come to this matchup guns blazing. They have looked solid against Spacestation and I think something similar is going to happen in this match.
If we are to compare individual skill for these two teams, we would find a big gap. NRG is simply better and talented team and I think that what happened to NRG in their last meeting is not going to happen again.
All in all, I believe that NRG will stomp compLexity over the course of 2 maps, just to prove a point to other teams and their fans that IEM Katowice 2019 was just a bad day in the office.
