DreamHack Open Valencia 2018 Predictions – Who We Think Will Win
Now that we’ve taken a look at the event schedule and involved teams, here are some predictions on who we think will win DreamHack Open Valencia 2018.
We’ll start with our predictions for both groups, and then we’ll give our predictions for the playoffs and who we think will win the event as a whole.
DreamHack Open Valencia 2018 Group A Predictions
We think that Group A will be pretty straightforward as far as predictions and betting goes. Whilst AGO has been performing well recently, and it’s nice to see a relatively new name in the tournament with Giants, both of these teams will struggle against Heroic and North.
Both Heroic and North will be the biggest wall for AGO and Giants to fight pass, and honestly we think it’ll be impenetrable for them.
As a result, it’d be wise to make bets on any games where either North or Heroic go up against Giants or AGO.
If you want to be extra safe, wait for the best of three games. It’d also make sense that AGO will have the advantage over Giants if you’re looking for even more betting opportunities.
Just keep in mind that this bet would be somewhat risky. We don’t know the full capability of Giants, especially against a lower tier team like AGO.
If either North or Heroic clash, it’s a different story. Both teams have been neck and neck in the past and often trade wins and losses between each other.
Ultimately, both Heroic and North should proceed to the playoffs, and AGO and Giants will be sent home.
DreamHack Open Valencia 2018 Group B Predictions
Group B is a trickier nut to crack. Whilst G2 is by far the best team in world rankings in this group, the performance from Virtus.Pro, Luminosity, and Fragsters can be unpredictable. There’s nothing stopping either of these three teams pulling out wins against G2.
To make things worse, matchups between the latter three teams have always been far and few between.
When they have come up against each other, they’ve often been close matchups. It’d be unwise to make bets during any Group B matches due to the unpredictability of it all.
With that being said, we think that G2 should at least make it into the playoffs.
Even if their own performance can be shaky at times, they rarely struggle to get into tournament playoffs and they often get put into much harder groups than this. This leaves one remaining spot for a group B team to get to the playoffs.
It’s hard to predict which team it will be, so we cannot make any assumptions at this point.
In summary, G2 should hit the playoffs, alongside one of the other group B teams.
DreamHack Open Valencia 2018 Playoff Predictions
So far, our predictions would suggest the following teams will make it into the playoffs.
- Another Group B team
I think that it’ll be a race between North and Heroic, although G2 may put up a good fight, too.
The only game that would be safe to bet on in the playoffs would be the game against the other group B team. Whether it’s Virtus.Pro, Luminosity, or Fragsters, both North and Heroic would have an easy match on their hands.
Overall, we think Heroic or North will have the best chance to take the grand final win, but it’ll be a close fight between the two teams. Who will you be rooting for? Why not make a bet based on our predictions or on your favorite team?
