The latest edition of iBUYPOWER Master is upon us. This year’s edition brought together 8 teams from all over the world. The venue is already sold out. AVALON Hollywood in Los Angeles, California is where these teams will face off for a total prize pool of $200,000. This tournament will only last for two days, starting with 19th January 2019 up to 20th January.

As you can see there is a clear favorite in this event, that being Astralis. It is going to be interesting to see if anyone is going to come up with a plan in order to counter the mighty Danes. Furthermore, I do not think anyone can come close to them in this event, mainly because all the other contenders changed their roster, while Astralis is team bonding and getting ready for the season.
iBUYPOWER Masters 2019: Groups & Format
Just like other events, iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 is not offering anything new or revolutionary when it comes to group stage or format. Standard double-elimination groups are put in place(GSL format).
8 teams are divided into two groups of 4. Every game is played in a best-of-1 match and top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. When it comes to playoffs, best-of-3 series have been put in place alongside single-elimination bracket, so there are no second chances for anyone in Los Angeles.
iBUYPOWER Masters 2019: Who To Bet On?
If you are looking for an overall winner of this event, then your safest pick is definitely Astralis. They did not change anything, they could have only got better over the last month. They will definitely look fresh and I feel like they will stomp anyone who stands in their way. Another thing that is going to be interesting is Astralis’ favorite map, Nuke. Is anyone going to present them with a challenge on this map? I think that they are untouchable on this map and the best way to avoid it is to permaban it.
If you are looking for big underdog bets, then look no more. Both Liquid and FaZe made roster changes not even a month ago. Even though they have strong riflers and superstars in their respected roster, they might found themselves in a whole world of trouble, especially against teams who are more synergized than them. So there is a lot of value if you are to bet against Liquid and FaZe on iBUYPOWER Master 2019.
