One of Asia’s biggest tournaments is just around the corner, so here’s a look at some IEM Shanghai 2018 betting tips & predictions.

We’ll be sharing information on which teams are participating, schedules for the tournament, and details on who you should bet on.

Once IEM Shanghai 2018 goes live, you will be able to catch all of the action on Twitch.

Before we get into the match predictions, here is a quick look at the IEM Shanghai 2018 tournament schedule.

Group Stage – August 1-August3

  • Two groups of four.
  • Double elimination.
  • Group stage not yet seeded.
  • All matches are best of three.
  • Top two teams from each group will move to playoffs.

Playoffs – August 4-6

  • Single elimination
  • All matches are best of three.

Unfortunately, the groups have not yet been set, which makes predicting the event a little more challenging. We can instead make betting tips on which teams are most likely to come out on top during the group stage.

Here is a look at all eight teams participating in IEM Shanghai 2018.

  • Gambit
  • HellRaisers
  • NRG
  • TyLoo
  • Virtus.Pro
  • 5Power
  • B.O.O.T-dream[S]cape

IEM Shanghai 2018 Betting Tips & Predictions

Let’s start with the easy bets. Virtus.Pro has just lost their biggest player, Snax, which means they are going to struggle even more than they have done previously.

Unless VP somehow gets somebody like S1mple on their team, (PS: not happening) then betting against VP is an easy option. We doubt they’ll get a single win.

The next best thing to do is look at the top performing teams.

By making small bets on as many games from these teams as possible, your win potential should be negated by any potential upsets during the group stage.

Essentially, this means betting on any of the following teams:

  • Gambit
  • Tyloo
  • NRG
  • HellRaisers

IF they come up against any of the following teams:

  • Virtus.Pro
  • 5Power
  • B.O.O.T-dream[S]cape
  • Grayhound

Once the group stage is up, chances are we’ll have Gambit, TyLoo, NRG, and HellRaisers in the playoffs.

If we have any upsets and another team gets through, make sure to bet against them.

Just remember that all matches are best of three, so chances for an upset are slim.

If you really want to bet on an underdog, consider Grayhound. They are a team that has proven themselves before, and they have the highest chance of taking a game or two from the top four teams in this tournament.

Grayhound could also be a good team to bet on if they come up against Virtus.Pro, 5Power, or B.O.O.T-dream[S]cape.

If you’d like to bet on the playoffs, I’d say that TyLoo and NRG have the highest chance to come out on top. Hopefully, they won’t face each other in the semifinals.

If both of these teams do face each other, avoid betting – it’s too risky. The same can be said for a Gambit/HellRaisers matchup.

Hopefully, these IEM Shanghai 2018 betting tips and predictions have been useful. If you make any bets and they are successful, make sure to let us know!
