LCK Spring Predictions

Day 1

KT Rolster vs. Gen.G

T1 vs. Hanwah Life Esports

KT Rolster continue to prove themselves amongst the top teams in Korea having gone undefeated in the group stage of the KeSPA Cup 2020 and later placing 4th in the event. While Gen.G were without a doubt a top three team in the 2020 season, they failed to live up to recent expectations for the KeSPA Cup 2020, trailing Gen.G in 5-6th place. Many believed 2021 would be the year for T1’s return to the top, however, hopes have been dashed after they went 1-3 in the KeSPA Cup 2020 Group stage, ending 7-8th place. On the other hand, Hanwha Life Esports surpassed expectations in the same competition. In contrast, the usually bottom tier team who came 9th place in the LCK 2020 Summer Season finished 3-4th in the KeSPA Cup 2020.
Prediction KT Rolster 45% l Gen.G 55% Prediction T1 50% l Hanwah Life Esports 50%

Day 2

Nongshim Redford vs Liiv Sandbox

Dragon X vs. Afreeca Freecs

Nongshim Redford is new, yet extremely promising, with the former Team Dynamics lineup ending 2nd place in the KeSPA Cup 2020. Liiv SANDBOX had a shaky 2020, with the year being their weakest one to date. However, with the addition of Effort, it is expected Liiv Sandbox to only become stronger. Both Dragon X and Afreeca Freecs had a disappointing appearance in the recent KeSPA Cup 2020, placing 7-8th and 9-10th respectively. However, considering DragonX and Afreeca Freecs had recently signed new players to replace half or more of their roster, this short term downturn in performance does not indicate any major red flags.
Prediction Nongshim Redford 58% l Liiv Sandbox 42% Prediction Dragon X 55% l Afreeca Freecs 45%

Day 3

Fredit Brion vs. Gen. G

T1 vs. DWG KIA

This is Fredit Bion’s first game in the LCK having previously played in the CK League. In contrast, they are against one of Korea’s top forces, Gen.G, an accomplished organisation that continues to perform to the highest degree. The meeting of the two rivals, T1 and DWG KIA, a match between the former multi World Championship winning team, and the current World Champions. While T1 failed to deliver recently, DWG KIA took a clean sweep in the KeSPA Cup 2020, only dropping a single game throughout the whole competition.
Prediction Fredit Brion 15% l Gen.G 85% Prediction T1 27% l DWG KIA 73%

Day 4

KT Rolsters vs. Liiv Sandbox

Dragon X vs. Hanwah Life Esports

KT Rolsters holds a slight advantage being the more experienced LCK team, having also consistently outperformed Liiv Sandbox in various events. Dragon X look they are on a downturn, while Hanwah Life Esports appear to be on the rise. While Dragon X may be favoured in the long term, they still need more time to build synergy given their recent roster overhaul, giving Hanwah Life Esports a decent chance.
Prediction KT Rolsters 58% l Liiv Sandbox 42% Prediction Dragon X 53% l Hanwah Life Esports 47%

Day 5

Nongshim Redford vs. DWG KIA

Afreeca Freecs vs. Fredit Brion

While both teams look good, DWG KIA are clearly more established and have consistently proven themselves. That said, Nongshim Redford cannot be completely counted out, and may very well be the underdogs for this split. This will be a close match considering Afreeca Freecs is a strong team that had a shaky end to 2020, while Fredit Brion are fresh, yet promising faces to the LCK.
Prediction Nongshim Redford 33% l DWG KIA 67% Prediction Afreeca Freecs 50% l Fredit Brion 50%

Suggested Bets

  • DWG KIA: It is highly likely DWG KIA will take out the LCK 2021 Spring Split given their dominance in 2020 shows no signs of slowing down. While odds for individual matches may be low, they are the safe betting option, especially against newer or clearly weaker teams in the LCK.
  • Nongshim Redford: Despite looking promising, many may underestimate Nongshim Redford. This will translate to higher odds early in the competition, making bets on Nongshim Redford great for value.

LCK Summer Predictions

The LCK has a champion rooted to the crown, DamwonKia is possibly the best team comp in the world. They currently keep a powerful rooster and you may find them to be probably safe to bet on. A little behind you could trust your cash on RNG, but this season they made some changes that could be detrimental to their team, passing Showmaker to the bot lane and wasting the level of Ghost can be a double-edged sword and can cost them a final or several games.

Apart from the teams named above, you should also keep an eye on T1 and GenG. These teams are currently gaining more strength than before and showed a great performance during the Spring season. In fact, GenG has currently achieved a higher position than DWG KIA whit 6 wins and 0 loss so far in the tournament. Being the GenG vs. DWG KIA match on July 4th one of the most expected matches of the tournament at this point.

Our favourites:

  1. DWG KIA
  2. GenG
  3. Nongshim RedForce
  4. T1

Who is going to win the 2021 LCK Summer Split?

Most LCK betting tips will say that either Gen.G or Damwon Gaming are in with the best chance of winning the 2021 LCK Summer Split. This is because both of these LCK odds teams have rosters that are absolutely packed with talent.

Damwon Gaming will certainly be one of the most feared LCK teams. Last summer saw the team sweeping aside DRX and Gen. G to claim the top seeding for LoL Worlds. While much has changed since then, any team boasting players like Chasy Khan, ShowMaker and a head coach like kkOma is going to take some beating.

It’s also thought that Gen.G could finally show that it’s one of the best LCK teams around, after two very impressive performances in last year’s campaigns. Plus with both Afreeca Freecs and DRX looking strong, coming up with some solid LCK betting tips is much less simple.

This is all the more true because there have been plenty of changes in the mechanics of League of Legends over the past half year. This has made betting on LoL much less predictable. All of which has meant that past form could go out of the window when it comes to most LCK betting tips.
